a busy weekend at Shepton & Malvern

Michael & I went to Shepton on a mission to buy some nice things for the Pop-up Vintage Store that I am opening in the Summer in Winchcombe and also for me to find some furniture/shabby interiors stall holders for the Cotswold vintage fair, we didn't really achieve either!
The one thing that I bought to sell was this lovely chippy paint, old fabric child's chair, it is so scrummy that I have left it as it is & not even cleaned it.
The second great buy was Fog Horn Leghorn, he is a very large cockeral made from bits of welded together rusty metal. He gained many an admiring eye as Michael carried him back to the car & many comments which I can't mention here!
When we got him home Mum wanted him, if anyone knows the lady that I bought him from can you let me know please, she did mention Exeter?!
That was it for Shepton, onto Malvern, again I had vintage & blog ladies visit me, again I apologise for my terrible memory, hello to Jayne (http://www.vintageandhandemade.co.uk/), the lady with the VW campervan, Ann, the lady from Leicestershire (http://www.vintage-treasures.co.uk), Penelope (http://www.rosablue.co.uk) and anyone that has taken a card.
My Mum launders my whites, the above creamy linen with pastel embroidery was sold, I had thought about keeping it as the colours were beautifully muted, but I keep trying to downsize so......it had to go I had lots of comments about my selection of flowers, I always take fresh, this time anenomes, these are locally grown in Gloucester and Mum bought them for me. I love them and always think back to when I had Tom and his dad went out and scoured Worcester to find a bunch for me. (16 years ago)!
I bought this lovely prayer book, inscription 1935, with a small lot of diaries, Mum has them and has read them from cover to cover as they follow a young woman from 1930 - 35 and her daily life and family, they really should be serialised, I will blog them once I get them back!

My chocolate boxes & fabric covered boxes have got to go.........
The beautiful chairs and a Triang wheelbarrow, very sturdy with 2 front wheels,

The well made galvanised tin bath, I had marketed it as "great filled with iced water & beer, for a world cup bbq", the ladies hubby agreed but she is going to grow lettuces in it.
I usually take my large glass vase filled with flowers, as last time when it was full of hyacinths I could have sold it time & time again, but they came home to go back in the garden for next spring.
