All aboard the Skylark ….travels in the V-dub!

Totnes March 005

Totnes March 007

M and I had a day at the seaside on Friday, not our usual beach as we usually go to Slapton, this is Blackpool sands.
After reading and listening to cricket (M did that, I listened to the sea), we drove back to Brixham.
I loved the new “art” on the walk around to the Marina.

When we go to Brixham, if we don’t have Florence, we always stay at the most fantastic B&B, Brookside, do have a look at the website it shows how fantastic it is, the rooms are very well decorated and equipped and are pristine.
When we arrived John brought us a tray of tea and coffee & warm muffins, last time we took tea in the garden.

Apart from the lovely rooms, the breakfasts are fantastic.
Organic & locally sourced, you can have the traditional F.E.B. however after a selection of cereals, today I had Dorset cereals muesli with strawberries followed by pancakes with fruits of the forest, bacon & maple syrup & a dollop of crème fraiche, I couldn’t manage the toast! M had been looking forward to a smoked haddock & parsley hash with poached eggs. Oh and freshly squeezed oj, lovely and sharp!
I had forgotten to take the camera and we had both started to tuck in before I sent M back upstairs to fetch it, (punishment for putting the alarm on to watch the GP)!

John & Tess are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, they prepared a packed breakfast and flasks for us Saturday morning for us to take to Totnes.
Lesley had again arranged a fantastic venue for the second Nostalgic Mix Fair.
She was in raptures about my Formica table so much so that it had to go home with her, it will take pride of place in her new workroom/posh shed. I was so happy that it has gone to such an appreciative owner.

I can’t say who bought the little c.o.d. as I don’t want to get her into trouble!!

I am sorry that I didn’t take more pictures, they are just of my stall, but I didn’t really get the chance. I would have loved to have taken pics of the very glamorous girls (black uniforms, seamed stockings, high heels, frilly white pinnies..) in the tea rooms, they provided us with fantastic teas & soups & lovely cakes, all in a well decked out vintage tea room. M was in heaven!!
A lovely weekend, this afternoon when we came home I did the washing, hoovering, shopping & emptied the van. “What did M do?” I hear you ask, well that’s obvious, he went to play golf for 4 1/2 hours!

  1. Hi Tracey
It was lovely to see you and M yesterday, we certainly had a great day, I don't know about you but I am shattered. I did have to come clean about the c.o.d as I couldn't hide them but I wasn't in too much trouble!! I absolutely love them and I am bringing them to the V&H to display all my little haberdashery bits and pieces in. Glad you got back safely, have a great week.

As ALWAYS your set-up looks fantastic, glad you had a good selling day- and drooling over your breakfast whilst I work through my meagre porridge and cinnamon.

    Have alovely week xx

  7. Having dragged my eyes away from the food pictures, I spotted the lovely 1930's floral cushion on your stall from a previous post. I have been dreaming of that cushion (yes, sad I know) and hope it has gone to a good home! Abby

  9. I will have to look up the B&B it looks great, although living in Devon it always seem strange to go away to Devon for the weekend, if you know what I mean, couldn't make Totnes last week but it did look fab.
