The Old Pill Factory today

 

The window was just being changed when we arrived today, Fiona was using a grey palette, I can lay claim to the cabriole legged desk, the beautiful painted, handy size pine chest of drawers and one of my 1950’s rose cushions. What a lovely job, restrained but busy and interesting.

Upstairs into my little space, we bought a (not matching) pair of benches, Gustavian in style, a very handy seasidey cupboard, strangely all grey tones?!

I have removed some items today which will be coming to Totnes fro Saturday, but if you are near Witney call in as the stock changes daily.

Spring florals

I have turned my hand to creating with 1930's & 1950's fabrics all backed with vintage linen

will all be coming to Totnes this Saturday, unfortunately the bench will not, but they will be displayed in the entrance foyer along with quilts, pretty cupboards, a formica floral table(rare) and lots of other beautiful items.

What's this all about?

What is interesting is that Miranda singled Tom out whilst she was there and started chatting to him as she recognised him, obviously Tom knew that he had met her before, they had been diving off the same boat out of Plymouth, at least 3 years ago.

Perhaps she may remember him the next time a production company is looking for a scuba/shooting/stalking/wildlife/country boy to front a tv programme?!

Anyway he is very nonchalant about it all, he is just happy to be at such a fabulous college.

Would you do the labelling & ironing….

making cushion pads, more labelling…..polish cupboards…….go out and sand down a desk and chest of drawers……

Or decide on a totally unnecessary job of removing Dolly’s horrid old fuzzy nylon cover and decoupaging her with lovely old French fabric???????

Well you can see what I did which is why we still have no food in the house, carpets need hoovering and important work needs to be done, oh and a trip to Witney!

Formica–love it or hate it??

What do you think of this little beauty, again it’s the “Marmite” conundrum – “love it or hate it”??

Unlike Marmite, I spotted this table at forty paces and snapped it up. She has a lovely Formica top and is drop-leaf, so 1950’s. The colours are far brighter but the light was poor in the shed and the mobey isn’t as good as my camera, however I think you can appreciate her. If she goes to the Old Pill Factory, I am sure that Fiona & Ann will pop her in the window, she is so glam!

Should we have taken the van????

Mmmm, well when Mum and I went to Newark we took the van and what we bought wouldn't have filled the boot of my hatchback!

So to nip to Swinderby, we won't bother taking the van, good move! haha!

We had a good morning buying a small cabriole legged desk, a painted pine c.o.d, two 11/2 high backed benches, a 1950's rose covered table, triple fold clothes horse, textiles, cushions, lamps......

if we had taken the van.... I spotted a lovely big pine c.o.d and a washstand. However we stopped buying just in time.

We made it home intact and vowed to take the van next time!

The sun was so bright today that the window shots were not to good, a decorators theme, you can just see Ercol chairs for children painted in bright colours.

Don't forget it is the Vintage jumble in Rangeworthy tomorrow.
