Doors & technology!

marrakech 2011 004

We are currently having a problem with our pc,it is very old and I finally convinced M to buy himself a laptop. Having explained more than once to the computer shop staff that all of the ports & drives were, how shall we say, k****ered, could they guarantee being able to transfer all of M’s business files and more importantly my photograph files,(all of my recent years travels to far flung places that I will probably never get to again), we were told “No problem”, in that sort of condescending way that young people have when talking to middle aged women that they believe are computer dummies!

Before anyone comments that we should have taken back-ups/copies, yes this is all very well in hindsight, however we really did not expect for all forms of transfer to stop working! Anyway it is a week later and they are still struggling with the transfer, so FINGERS CROSSED, as I will be so disappointed if my pictures disappear, and I suppose the Taxman may be a bit miffed?!

So to my doors, I was mooching through some pictures that I have on my laptop and thought you might like to see some more doors, you may remember that doors are one of my favourite subjects, I hope you like them.

  1. this did make me chuckle- my PC is so ancient I've just bitten the bullet and bought a laptop.

I said to Bob the Computer Man
now how do we get everything transferred over?
    and he said
just leave it all to me...

I'm not very good at "leaving things to ANYONE" but on the other hand I don't have the faintest idea how to do the swap-over, so watch this space (and my chewed fingernails)!

  3. Oooooooh this scary blog post reminds me why i stick to a mac. Buy a new mac, plug in a firewire and all data is tranferred, easy peasy! I do hope your computer man is successful, it's horrible to think of all those photos disappearing. At least you have your blog!

  4. I'm lucky enough to have a son who works for Apple!

I have a bit of a thing for door too. I don't where the last door is but it's very lovely isn't it.
